The Race

In pursuit of what we desire,

In the chase to quench that undying fire,

We aspire, conspire, face consequences dire,

Willy-nilly, we remain until we tire, until what we want we acquire.

Savour the best!

Your time, you invest,

Spend it doing what gives you your zest,

With people who’ll stand by you, even when you’re a pest,

Create moments that’ll become the reason for your smiles, brightest!

Break Free!

Why be shallow, when you have a world so wide,

Why close yourself into a shell when you can open your mind; let yourself unwind,

Why live alone when together, you can be,

Why chain your emotions when you can set them all free!

Make them yours, your dreams!

Amidst the shambles, in search of thee,

I go in pursuit of making you my reality,

Hidden, until desperately sought after, you clearly choose to be,

But, hey, my eyes, open wide or shut tight, you are what they clearly see!

Whatever it takes…

Let’s stick on to each other,

Like ink on a piece of paper,

Irrevocable, undetachable,

Let’s live in a fable, let’s live without a label 💖

Flap your wings!

Where is it that you wish to be,

What is it, that in your dreams, you see?

Close your eyes, let your instincts guide thee,

Flap your wings, bring to life your crazy audacity!

Stay beautiful, inside!

Good, bad, ugly or posh,

Exquisite or tosh,

Where you belong in,

Depends on who you are, within

Be your own!

Don’t be a toy,

Don’t be anyone’s ploy,

Be your own,

Cause you’d only reap what you’ve shown!

One step at a time…

Don’t rush,

Don’t fuss,

One step at a time,

Will make your life sublime!

A 100 posts on Pen The Picture!

One hundred. A hundred poems on a hundred picture prompts.

I’ve been looking forward to this day so much, as much as I enjoyed writing a quatrain each day. In the beginning, I thought I’ll make Pen The Picture a mix of essays, couplets, poems and quatrains – but the idea of writing quatrains each day seemed challenging, so I decided to stick to them.

The 100 days of Pen The Picture  journey has been tremendous. Encouraging. Exciting. Addictive. Refreshing. A damn good creative exercise to the brain. Something that made a tiring long day look beautifully productive. And it wouldn’t have been this wonderful had it not been for the encouragement from you readers.

Now I’m thinking of broadening my horizons. Looking for similar and more exciting ideas to entice my creativity to higher levels. I’ll soon be back with something new, perhaps more amazing, more exciting – because, sometimes, it’s good to do something without any reason, purely because you enjoy doing it. Because, sometimes, it’s good to give wings to your passion and see it fly high.

Cheers!
