No matter how much things change, no matter how many new things come up, no matter how much the world we live in modernises, what we grew up with, will always remain super close to our hearts. They’ll always have a special place in our lives, a place that’s irreplaceable.
Because, this feeling is something that each of us can relate to, because I feel so innately nostalgic about it, here’s me sharing a post about one of my favourite places in the city I live. Do read it and share your thoughts, similar memories and experiences. I’m looking forward to read each of yours.
Read it here 👉 Nostalgia – my city, my home.
Why do I always have to prioritize, why do I always have to choose ?
Why is there something that I always have to miss, that I always have to lose?
Why can’t I just spend the evening watching a movie with my family,
And, at the same time, get to have fun with my friends at their happening party?
Why can’t I cosy up, during a rainy afternoon, with my book and some hot piping tea,
And, simultaneously, get drenched to the skin in the rain, breathing in every minuscule of nature’s audacious beauty?
Why do I always have to choose one over the other?
Why does my mind prefer one, my heart, another?
Why can’t I have the cake and eat it too, with equal alacrity?
Why is it always so hard to choose, to forgo, to live in the moment, to just let things be?
Time flies. Circumstances change. Faces become unfamiliar. We age.
It is ironical though – the fact that we meet millions of people in different phases our lives, but we manage to stick on to only a few. A few become strangers, a few, acquaintances, a few, family, and a few, friends, for life – because, we connect with them like we do with nobody else. The wavelength, the rapport, the understanding, the warmth.
To those few of you in my life – you belong to me.
It doesn’t matter in which part of the world you live, it doesn’t matter if we don’t converse everyday, it doesn’t matter that today ain’t friendship day – but – I love you.
I am, because you help me be.
Thank you, for, you connect with me the way I am, you connect with my flaws, with my follies. With my imperfections. With my eccentricity. With my absurdity.
This bond we share, just so you know, is for forever.
During moments when you’re hollow,
Try to search for the sun in your rainbow,
A memory, a keepsake,
Or perhaps, a lone flower in your wake,
A ray of light that’d help you find your ore,
Or possibly give you reasons to smile some more,
Because, what’s hurting you now, ain’t just making you whine,
It is in fact, helping you seek your sunshine!
You’re one of a kind, you’re unique by design,
You are a star, born to shine,
You don’t have to fit in,
You don’t have to give in,
Be your own,
Find your own special zone,
Don’t lose yourself in the crowd,
Carve your own niche, make your own mould!
“Erm…No, but I’m nervous. What if things turn haggard?”
“Chill. It’ll be a smooth sail.”
“I might fall. I might fail.
I wanna have a ball, but I know I am too frail”.
“You are meant to reach the stars.
Begin to look, beyond your scars.”
“You haven’t given up on me yet?”
“Never have. Never will. You’ll always have my back. For you, are my best bet.”
You ain’t meant to be, in a cage, confined,
You ain’t meant to be, by boundaries, defined,
With your attitude, slay, with your confidence, stun,
Brace yourself for everything under the sun,
Break all barriers, set your soul free,
Be as wild as you’d want to be,
Flap your wings for you are meant to fly,
And you wouldn’t know what you can do, until you try!
