Hypocrisy, and all that façade.

The veil behind which you carry your little charade,
I wonder how you effortlessly fool the rest of the world with that masquerade –
Of plastic smiles and the promises you make,
Of love and warmth and goodwill in your wake;
You put on a show of adulation and happiness and insane excitement,
While silently cursing under your breath in deep, bitter resentment,
You proclaim truce in the eyes of the world, and feign innocence,
When you and I know, you’re the reason a space that knew no boundary now has a fence,

I couldn’t care less about your almighty pretence,
I couldn’t care less about your trifling petulance,
But, I sure would want to thank you for existing, my fair weather friend, for YOU taught me,
What exactly I shouldn’t ever be.

I hoard books for a living. And read them too, when I am not sleeping. I express what I think, so my unheard feelings don't sink. I like to sing when I walk, to keep shades grey, at bay. I speak like a dork, but I don't want to drive anyone away. I write what's real, and nothing fake, so visit my blog whenever you need a break ;)
