The World’s Your Oyster!

The world will talk of how you’ve changed, of how you were then and how you’re now,
And it’ll tell you what you should grow to be and how,
It’ll try to fit you into the roles it’s used to seeing people in,
It might even ask you to streamline the rush of your adrenaline,

But what it wouldn’t help you realise, is –
It’s okay to always think something’s amiss,
It’s okay, to feel lost and not know where you’re heading,
It’s okay if you haven’t, yet, found your calling,
It’s okay to be flawed, it’s okay to be a misfit,
It’s okay to pursue what your heart’s after and not let anyone talk you out of it –

Because, chapped lips, crooked teeth or coloured skin,
Lighter pigment or abundance of melanin,
You are who you are, there’s no one like thee,
Good, bad or ugly – only you can choose what you want to be,
So fall in love, make art, write your own story,
Break a leg – Here’s to you creating history!

I hoard books for a living. And read them too, when I am not sleeping. I express what I think, so my unheard feelings don't sink. I like to sing when I walk, to keep shades grey, at bay. I speak like a dork, but I don't want to drive anyone away. I write what's real, and nothing fake, so visit my blog whenever you need a break ;)
